Local roots. Global appeal.
MTK is a bespoke circular knitting mill based in Melbourne, Australia.
We produce premium knitted fabrics with care, creativity, and a deep respect for the craft — and for the designers who share our commitment to quality and longevity.
As one of the last remaining knitting mills in Australia, we offer something rare: local textile manufacturing grounded in experience, intention, and collaboration.
MTK is led by Stephen Morris-Moody, a lifelong knitwear artist with a background in hand knitting and structural textile design. With an intuitive, hands-on approach, Stephen brings together technical expertise and creative vision — shaping the way we work, and the relationships we build with designers.
We’ve had the privilege of collaborating with some of Australia’s most respected designer brands, as well as globally recognised luxury labels. Whether you're an emerging designer or an established name, we see every project as a partnership — built on trust, shared values, and attention to detail.
We don’t do fast fashion. Our focus is on honest craftsmanship, thoughtful process, and knitted fabrics made to last — both in form and in feeling.
Our roots are in Melbourne, but our reach extends across the Australian fashion industry. We stay small when it matters, scale when needed, and always take the time to do things properly — with care for people, process, and the planet.
What sets us apart.
Circular knitting only — it’s what we know best
Collaborative process — from concept to final stitch
Technically fluent — decades of deep industry knowledge
Trusted globally — proudly partnering with both emerging and established brands
